My very first oil painting, a photo by makingamark2 on Flickr.
Yesterday morning I watched Sarah paint using the alkyds and then secreted myself away in the nearest decent shade and had a go for myself.
Got to go and start another one now. We're learning not to waste the early morning hours before it gets too hot
This morning at 6am we waved "Goodbye" to Ronelle who has returned home for a family celebration this weekend

I'm sure it will be the first of many. Oil is a great medium for painting outside. Well done! I look forward to seeing your next one.
excellent first oil - now for more :>)
Are you liking the Alkyds?
Bravo for you,Katherine. What fun to see you pick up oils after so long. As Vivien says, what do you think of Alkyds? I do like the lights on the trees on the left and their shadows on the road.

Or did I misunderstand, Katherine? These are the first oils ever?

The very first - ever - Annie
Very nice. The soft, light hand you have with watercolors carries over to the oils.
What a great start Katherine! Interesting how your coloured pencil experience shines through in this oil painting.
I love your painting. The light is so soft, beautifully captured, VERY well done. Love to know how you liked it?
