A work in progress

A work in progress, a photo by makingamark2 on Flickr.

I forgot to take a photo of the two sketches I did yesterday so am posting this photo of the work in progress.

It was a very hot day so we had a rather lazy Sunday sketching and painting on the terrace. This one started as a detailed pen and ink sketch which I always find very meditative. This sketch will be called "a quiet place in Provence" and the subject is a wall which changes colour all through the day.

Today we're going to sketch/paint the hilltop town of Gordes - see http://www.beyond.fr/villages/gordes.html

Hi from the east coast of America. I am not sure how I happened onto Four Go Painting in Provence, but it has been so much fun seeing the work of you like-minded friends/artists. Having spent time in the areas you are painting it has been like a trip back in time. So thoroughly enjoyed it. I know it takes your time to do these posts when you could be painting or EATING!! Thank you for the kindness. I do very little colored pencil, so when I see excellent CP technique, I just say WOW ! You have a magic gift with your pencils.
You manage to maintain a steady pressure and calmness about your work. Serenity and Peace two lovely qualities. Enjoy your continuing days in Provence. Look forward to all of your blogs.

It's like a demo to see work in progress, Katherine. Thank you so much. Hope you will show it as it progresses.

Vivien - I did one more last week. however I've decided I don't want to get frustrated and lose time sketching. Will Carry on learning how to use them when I get home.
