Mont Ventoux is the stuff of legends, the mythical Tour de France leg!


It is also a region with varied landscapes: the Comtat Vanaissin plain, the Albion plateau, a rich land of small valleys and hills where strawberries, cherries, plums, figs, grapes, lavender and spelt grow. Enjoy these itineraries without moderation!
The Vaucluse area of Provence is bounded by:
  • the River Rhône to the west 
  • mountains to the east - including Mont Ventoux (1,912 m), also known as "the Giant of Provence".  It is classified as a Unesco biosphere reserve
  • the River Durance to the south
It's an area where lots of fruit and vegetables are cultivate as it includes one of the most fertile plains in the whole of France

Important towns in the area include Avignon, Orange, Carpentras, Cavaillon, and Apt.

Other important mountain ranges include the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Monts de Vaucluse, and the Luberon.
