A photoessay of Provence

I'm now in Provence and settling in - which in my case focuses on how to make the technology work so I can post to the blogs as I go rather than saving it all for when I get home.

I'm getting there via download of images from SD card to ipad, manipulation in photogene, upload to Flickr, change status to allow download to Julian`s computer and then upload to the post. All he while trying to get used to a French keyboard which is decidedly not Querty.

The house is going to be an ace base, the three cats have already adopted me, I had a very sound night's sleep and I think this is going to be a very happy holiday!

Ronelle and Robyn both arrive tomorrow and Sarah flys in on Wednesday so today I'm doing a bit of shopping and then going out for the day.

I've decided not to neglect Making a Mark completely and I am going to try a photo essay of Provence - and post one photo a day - of something that has made a mark on me.

Today it's the photo taken just before the one you see above - of the sky over Mont Ventoux as the sun rises at just before 6am.

I was out there before 6am on the little road in my PJs documenting the visuals - so now we know what time to be up, brushes at the ready, to catch one of the best skies of the day!

Now I'm picturing you in your pjs running around outside. I'm so glad you are having a good time and that you have some substitutes for your own cats. They will make it more like home. Tell Robyn hello from me. I don't really know the other two ladies, but you all behave yourselves and have lots of fun.

Thanks Jeanne - it's nice to know who's following us

I will certainly tell Robyn Hello - and you'll get to to know Ronelle and Sarah as the holiday unfolds - not to mention the drawing, sketching and painting!

Yes, you're awake and outside in pj's...that is how it should be done..I'm commanding this be our state for the rest of the time...meeting outside in our pj's in the morning with that first coffee tea for you), looking for what arrived in the garden during the night!
Have fun today!

Sounds idyllic! Love the idea of your running around the French countryside in your PJs!

SWCMBR (She Who Cooks My Brown Rice) set off at 8 o'clock this morning, the heap of recycled Italian aluminium painted white loaded to the gunnels with art stuff. There have been no panicked phone calls so presumably all is going well.

HWEM is now also HWCMBR (He Who Cooks My Brown Rice). He's a better cook than she is so his rice should be better.

Oh man, I hope we don't get some of that brown rice in Provence by
SWCMBR...or actually..SWCCBR(she who can't cook brown rice)

Don't let her anywhere near the kitchen, Ronnell. She should be up before the International Court in The Hague on charges of Crimes Against Cuisine.

Yesyesyes!! that's indeed how it should be done-- the PJ Brigade outside, first thing in the morning.
I am so excited by your adventures. Waiting for the next.

Thank you for sharing your adventure with us! I'll be checking on you daily and I must admit I'm very envious. We had a gorgeous sky this morning, too, but running around outside in my PJs here just doesn't have the same charm for me as the thought of running around in my PJs in Provence.

I was a little worried about Dermott, but it sounds like he'll be just fine with HWCMBR.

Just fine? I'm prospering. I'm just about to translate Dante's Divina Commedia before I have a spot of breakfast. They tell me it's already been translated but not with the spin I'm putting on it.

SWCCBRFN - She Who Can't Cook Brown Rice For Nuts - is just setting off from her stopover at Ventimiglia. She's on her way.

Lock up the kitchen implements or brick up the doorway to the kitchen.

The brown rice courtesy of HWNCMBR - He Who Now Cooks Me Brown Rice - is delish.

Just thought I'd report.

Who knew brown rice didn't have to resemble something Cosmo threw up?

Just saying.
